Hey guys, how goes it?
Just checking in with a short topic in mind. I was curious, what category do you feel my work falls into? I've been meaning to submit my work to DA groups for quite a while now (almost a year), but every time I go to do so, I can never find any group I can comfortably identify my work with. I like to think I don't align myself with the Superkawaii psuedo-dark skulls and rainbows groups, but I don't really feel like my work belongs to the blood-and-guts-scary-in-yo-face-horror groups either. Same goes for surrealist groups, cartoon, comedic, macabre, gross out/intentionally ugly, etc etc. The way I see it, I'm a bit apprehensive about actively pigeonholing myself, and, realistically, probably just a bit too close to my own process to see the big picture anyway. AND THAT'S WHERE YOU GUYS COME IN. If you HAD to summate the category of artwork as a whole, what would you say/lean towards? No offense taken in advance if you're nervous about stating your true opinion or think it might hurt my feelings, please, i would love to hear it. ANY input, long or short, would be MASSIVELY appreciated.
Anyway, thanks for reading, hoping to hear your thoughts below!
