TRIPLE BROWN BETTY COMBO by sugarpolyp TRIPLE BROWN BETTY COMBO by sugarpolyp
"There is no hope for you, I will rule ze world!"

Iiiit's Dr. Kiln! This is some Clayfighters fanart I've been intending to do since... I dunno, 2008? If you knew who this character was before you hit the artists description, you're a pretty cool dude. Trying a lot of new painting techniques on this one.

Aw man, this was a sudden wash of nostalgia to see. Thanks for making this! And with such demonic design too. Really befits Dr. Kiln!

Ha, awesome! I'm glad I could take you back dude! Clayfighter definitely deserves more love than it got, at least in terms of art.

OH yeah, absolutely. The games use of caricatures are absolutely hysterical.

This is awesome. Pissed me off when he'd destroy me in two seconds with his outrageous combos. Lawdy.

Yeah, I've spent the majority of my life loving fighters/fighting games, but only being able to play mediocre-ly at best. I've gotten pretty good at fighters later in life, but for the first 17 years or so I could not figure out the nuances and intricacies of rolling the joystick to initiate combos and specials and all that, haha. But yeah, Dr.Kiln is a badass regardless, if perhaps a cheap one.

That's a good enough reason, Tennapel is great and the EWJ series was also good fun.

LAWDY. I like the depth of the device as well as the depth of everything. I also enjoy the way the fluid drips from the blade and how the character is placed nicely in the canvas with untypical h/w ratio. The legs, however, require more attention. Very well done Lars Nielsen. Proceed with good work.

Ha, thanks man! I'm with you! I was fairly pleased with this piece, but the composition definitely wasn't as thought out as it could have been, and it ended up leaving the legs a bit lacking and the labcoat a bit sludgy and undefined (among other things). Appreciate the crit as always man! I'LL DO MY BEST.

This guy looks cool! I never played the clayfighter for the n64 since I never had a n64...but I loved clayfighters 1 and 2 for the snes :> Technically I love the coloring in the gun and parts of the face/mouth, but other sections like his clothes and hair start to get a bit "muddy" and look less finished imo. But its good to see you are trying out some new painting stuff! Keep it up! :highfive:

Ha, thanks! HE IS COOL. I also own those games, but unfortunately I didn't grow up with them like I did with the N64 installments in the series. I'd love to see your reinterpritation of one of the characters someday (Don't worry though, I know you're a busy gal.) I'd recommend the later games as far as visuals are concerned, but as with the previous installments, the gameplay can be a bit questionable, haha. And thank you for the crit! I'm absolutely with you! As soon as I finished this piece I realized I need to study more hair/clothing, and I have been studying them more intensely since. Much obliged!
